I am presently on cumadin and was told I could and I could not eat lettuce because of the vitamin K. How high is the percentage of this vitamin in lettuce

One cup of leaf lettuce, shredded, contains 62.5micrograms of Vitamin K or about 78% of the amount that most people need in a day. This makes it a moderately high source of Vitamin K. Iceberg lettuce contains very little Vitamin K, and so you can eat as much of that as you like.

  1. The vegetables that are highest in vitamin K are kale, spinach, turnip greens, collard greens, swiss chard, parsley and mustard greens. Brussels sprouts, green leaf lettuce, broccoli, romaine and endive lettuces also contain high enough levels that you need to pay attention to how much of them you eat. You might want to check with your doctor to see if there are other foods that need your special attention.
