how do i read the expiration code on green giant products?

There is a very complicated formula involved in reading the expiration code for Green Giant Products. So, instead of confusing you any further I have a telephone number you can call to get help with this. Please call 1-800-998-9996 with the product in front of you. A live person will ask you to give them some codes off of the product, and then they will be able to provide you with expiration date. I am sure you will be able to get all of your answers from this help line.

  1. I thinks is retarded that you make an expiration code so difficult that one has to pick up the phone and go thru a hassle before throwing a can away. People have a life to be wasting it like that. Just write “Expire on
Month in letters and year in numbers” on the freaking can

  2. I am of the same opinion as Lilleira. It is rediculous to have to call every time to see if a product has expired or not.Senior citizens would not do this. They would just go ahead and consume it and take their chances rather than throw it out.

  3. The code is not that hard, it is 6 digits. the first letter is the month (A through L for Jan through Dec) the next digit is the year (eg. 8 is 2008) ignore the next 2 digits the last 2 digits are the day of the month. This is the dte packed not the expiry date.
Different products last between 2-3 years, green beans 2 years , corn 3 years.

  4. I do believe that you have just provided proof of how very difficult it is. Once you do decipher the date you still do not know when the product expires if different products have different shelf life. With no indication what that shelf life is you are still left staring cluelessly at the can. Worthless.
