How can a fruit or berry contain any fat? i.e.blueberries contain 1 g of fat?

Fruits and vegetables, depending on their composition, can contain fat. If a serving contains 0.5 grams or more of fat, it must round up to 1 gram on the food label. There are minimal amounts of naturally occurring fats in some fruits and vegetables, with avocados and olives containing the most.  However, the fat that is present in fruits and vegetables, exists in the form of monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fat. These are the healthy fats that promote heart health. Saturated fat (which is present in animal products) is the fat that has been linked to many heart related disorders and diseases. Therefore, you should have little concern with the fat content of fruits and vegetables! So enjoy your fruits and vegetables and read about our reasons to eat your fruits and vegetables!
