How to cook beets and what about the stems and greensare they ok to eat? Can I steam the whole thing or what Cabbage what is the difference between the different kinds?Thanks for all you help

Beets can be boiled, whole and unpeeled in water until soft. The red color will stain fingers, so either wear gloves, or use a fork and knife to slip off the peel once cooked. Greens can be eaten raw or cooked. Click here for more information on beets.
The different varieties of cabbage- green, Napa, Savoy, purple, have different shapes, colors or leaf appearances, and slightly different flavors.   1. You can also roast them, which is less messy. Cut the top and tail, rub them with olive oil, wrap them in aluminum foil and roast at 350 for 30 to 45 mintues, depending upon their size. Stick them with a knife to check for doneness. Cool and slide peel off using a napkin.
