When we bring home veggies like zucchini, asparagus, broccoli and others, they are in plastic bags. Should they stay in bags and, if so, should the bags be closed? It seems to me that they do better out of the bag, where they can get air, so that they don’t get wet and rot.

While some fruits and vegetables should be stored in their original package, others should not. Visit our Fruit & Veggie Nutrition Database for specific storage and selection questions for these vegetables.
