Does microwaving remove the nutrition and enzymes from food?

Q: I heard that using the microwave is bad because it kills your food – any nutrition and enzymes. it uses radiation at extremely high temp to heat up your food. so when it’s hot, it’s dead. do an experiment with 2 plants. one you water with tap water and one you water with microwaved water, the one that gets the microwaved water will die eventually. because you killed the water by microwaving it.and boiling your food does the same thing – it kills the enzymes. so if you re-heat, don’t boil.

A:  We are unaware of any study showing that the microwave cooking method “kills” food and removes the nutrition and enzymes in food.  Actually, certain nutrients in food are enhanced after heating.  What we do know is that the health benefits of eating fruits and vegetables in all forms outweigh that of less nutritious food.
