There’s no scientific evidence to suggest that eating highly spiced foods are in any way “bad” for you. Certain spices (and spicy or hot peppers) may aggravate pre-existing conditions such as gastric or esophageal reflux (commonly known as heartburn). Spices are a great way to add flavor, color, texture and variety to your favorite dish. Try adding some spices to fruits and vegetables such as cinnamon with cooked carrots or ground black pepper to a spinach and strawberry salad. Remember-variety is the spice of life!
