The Nutrition Facts Panel on the food label provides the amount of total sugars but does not list added sugars separately. You should examine the ingredient list to find out whether a food contains added sugars. The ingredient list is usually located under the Nutrition Facts Panel or on the side of a food label. Ingredients are listed in order of predominance, by weight; that is, the ingredient with the greatest contribution to the product weight is listed first and the ingredient contributing the least amount is listed last. Words in the ingredient list that would indicate that sugars have been added are corn sweetener, corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, honey, sugar, sucrose, fructose, glucose, maltose, invert sugar.
