we have a squash/gourd that is growing wild, big leaves, large veg. like a succini my wife wants to keep it from drying up, as the 1st one did. it smelled like “crap”excuse our insensity. How would she wax it,and what kind of wax is used?

Waxing vegetables for home storage is not recommended because it will not keep the vegetable fresh.  If the vegetable has a foul odor, it is likely that it is rotten and should be thrown out.
