hi.. i was wondering if u could help me out with something… i love taking care of myself and one way i do that is watching what i eat.. primaraly to not get pimples.. so my question is this.. can eating fruit cause pimples.. because according to the nutritional facts.. they are very high in sugar.. and sugar is one of the main causes of acne.. even if they say that what you eat has no effect on acne.. but i strongly disagree
The exact cause of acne is unknown, it is believed to result from several related factors. One of those factors is the hormonal changes that occur during puberty, around the menstrual period, or during pregnancy. Heredity also seems to be an important factor. Stress may aggravate acne, although that has not always been shown to be true. Additionally, acne can be aggravated by certain drugs, greasy cosmetics, rubbing of the skin by bike helmets or tight collars, pollution, high humidity and hard scrubbing of the skin.
Diet has not been shown to aggravate acne, although it is healthful to avoid foods that have a lot of added sugar. While fruits do contain sugar, it is natural and generally is not going to be as high in sugar as a similar amount of a food that has added sugar. Additionally, fruit comes with vitamins, minerals, fiber and phytochemicals that are important for health. So, continue to take good care of yourself by eating a wide variety of fruits … as well as the veggies.
