I am a sixty year old female, weighing about 125. My appearance is about the age of 40. I am concern, my diet consist of fruits & veggie and a low fat diet of calories from fat less 30 grams. I have been doing yoga for over 20 years.My question is am I consuming enough calories? I read an article stating that I needed at least 1200 calories a day.Please respone. Thank you.Martha
The best guideline for determining if you are getting enough or too many calories is your weight. If you are losing weight and are not trying to do so, your calorie intake may need to be increased. Likewise, if you are gaining weight and are not trying to do so, calorie intake is higher than it should be. In either case, you should check with your physician to make sure there is not an underlying medical cause of the weight change.
