We usually suggest storing in a plastic bag which prevents it from drying out, but foil may work. Celery absorbs odors from other vegetables (like cabbage), so you want to store it in something that will keep it separate from other foods.

 
 

Some chemicals may end up inside of the fruit, but most remain outside and can be removed by washing thoroughly. Researchers maintain that the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables far outweigh any risks that may be caused by any chemicals that remain on them.

 

There is evidence that diets rich in fruits and vegetables and low in fat can reduce the risk of cancer. The American Institute of Cancer Research suggests that the following fruits and vegetables may be particularly helpful: legumes including soy beans, berries, cruciferous vegetables (those in the cabbage family like cabbage and Brussels sprouts), dark green leafy vegetables (like spinach, kale and dark green lettuces), garlic, grapes/grape juice and tomatoes. Great! Frozen spinach is just fine and very convenient. By blending you are using the whole fruit and not only the juice, which means that you are getting the benefit of the whole fruit including the fiber. If you are diabetic then you need to “count” the fruits as part of your carbs, but otherwise, two smoothies with only natural sugar are a healthy addition to your diet.

Eating fruit is a very healthy thing to do, and most of us don’t eat enough. If you are eating so much fruit that it prevents you from eating other healthy foods like vegetables, protein foods, grains and dairy products however, then you are probably eating too much.

I’m assuming you mean fruits and vegetables. A serving is considered to be ½ cup of vegetables and cut up fruit, ½ of 100% juice, ¼ cup of dried fruit, and 1 cup of lettuce.

Generally, a small to medium piece of whole fruit is a serving. Click on “How many cups do you need?” to see how much you should be eating each day.
