Hi there, I have just bought a new dish from the supermarket. It is the brand name of Green Giant and it is called “Essentials”. Fibre is the highlight and it has brocolli, beans, peppers, barley, etc. This is a 200 Gram bag of frozen veggies that you microwave and I am wondering how many servings of vegetables would be in it. Thanks alot!!!

The serving size and the number of servings in the bag should be listed in the nutrition facts panel on the package.

Is it safe to eat sweet potatoes which have sprouted. i have them in the cupboard for about two weeks. i am aware that the nutrient content will diminish as they are stored longer. Thanks alot,

It is safe to eat those potatoes. Cut off the sprouts and use the potatoes as you would normally. The sprouts have used nutrients from the potato to grow, so have further reduced the nutrients available.

Who should I contact if we find a bug or worm in a bag of frozen veggies. My wife was stirring them up in a pot and took a closer look it looked like a worm or bug.

Contact the manufacturer of the vegetables. You can find contact information on the bag, and they will likely want you to provide other information listed on the bag.

what are the best cooking methods for veg. and why?

Friday, September 12th, 2008

You can find great ways to cook vegetables in our “Top ten ways to cook almost anything” on our website here. Most vegetables are best cooked just until tender since this allows them to retain most of their nutrients.

Where can I find a recipe for homemade juices and jelly/jams

Friday, September 12th, 2008

You can make homemade juices by juicing any combination of fruits and vegetables that you choose. You will need an electric juicer for most vegetables and some of the less juicy fruit. Recipes for jams and jellies can be found by “Googling” “making jams and jellies”.
