Does the natural sugars in fruit have any effect on a person with high blood sugar?

Blood sugar responses to different foods will vary depending on time of day, composition of the meal, activity and other factors as well.  The fiber in whole fruit may help slow the response to the sugar that is in the fruit, but it can be very individual.  I encourage you consult your physician or a registered dietitian who specializes in counseling persons with diabetes to help you with your diet and management of your blood sugar levels.  You can find a registered dietitian at www.eatright.org.
