Hello,I have a wonderful recipe from a friend. I eat all organic food. The recipe I am speaking of is pureed dates rolled in coconut flakes. Are dates a high calorie food, and how much is too much? I roll the date into a 2 inch log, then coat it with shredded organic coconut. Can you tell me the nutritional value of dates. Thank You, L
Dates are a dried fruit, and the calorie content of all dried fruits will be higher than the same amount of fresh fruit because they don’t contain as much water. That said, dates are still a healthy choice for snacks and for use in recipes. One serving would be ¼ cup. They are high in fiber, low in fat, and are a good source of potassium.
