People who study plants (Botanists) will tell you that fruits are the parts of the plant that have seeds. Nutritionists view fruits as parts of the plant that have seeds and are usually sweet, juicy and eaten for snacks or dessert. So while tomatoes and cucumbers are fruit botanically speaking, we count them as vegetables instead.
