Is it important for children to have a healthy snack prior to settling down and doing their homework? If so, explain.
It depends on the child and the time of day and/or situation. Studies have shown that children do better in school when they have a good breakfast, for example, so it makes sense that they may be able to focus on homework if they have a healthy snack. If a child is hungy, it can be difficult for them to concentrate on their homework. Of course, a healthy snack like fruits, veggies, or nuts is always preferred over a candy bar, cookies, or cake! Fruits and veggies make great after-school snacks. For more snack recipe ideas, click here.
