By Fruits & Veggies - More Matters
Try this great recipe on its own as a side dish or snack or spoon it over vanilla ice cream as a way to add fruit to dessert!
Ingredients4 large apples, any variety, preferably sweet
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Core, but do not peel apples; cut into chunks.
Add water and bring to boil.
Reduce heat to LOW and simmer 25 minutes or until apples are soft.
Add cinnamon and cook for 5 minutes.
Place in blender and blend until smooth.
Sweet apples will not require sugar. If tart apples are used, some sugar may be needed. Nutrition information does not include optional sugar.
Each serving provides: A good source of vitamin C and fiber.
