my husband has diabetes and his sugar level has spiked lately, looking at sugar in fruits, they all seem high. is the sugar in fruit the same/harmful as sugar in cakes, candy, white flower

Most fruits do contain sugar which diabetics need to plan for in their diet. Fruits are different from cakes, candy and white flour because in addition to sugar, fruits also contain minerals, vitamins and fiber that promote health.
