Most 16 month old children are able to self feed, so any soft fruits or vegetables that are easy to pick up and grasp may be appropriate. Items such as sliced bananas, soft slices of peaches without the skin, mashed potatoes and cooked carrots are all toddler-friendly. If this is your child’s first exposure to some fruits and vegetables, remember to watch for possible food allergies. Also, do not feed any items which may be choking hazards such as hard or round items and always keep an eye on your child while they are eating. For more kid-friendly recipes, click here.
