Why is NUT fat good. Why is RED MEAT fat bad.

Red meat has a much higher saturated fat content than nuts and it also contains cholesterol. Eating a diet which is high in saturated fat and dietary cholesterol has been associated with certain chronic illnesses including heart disease.  Nuts, on the other hand, are generally high in monounsaturated fat, a type of fat which may be beneficial to heart health and because they are plant foods, they do not contain cholesterol.  Some nuts also contain Omega-3 fatty acids, which may also help lower the risk of heart disease. So it is true that plant-based fats are better than animal-based fats, but remember that a gram of fat from either source has the same number of calories.

Eating a diet high in fruits and veggies, which are generally low in fat, can help reduce the risks of certain types of chronic disease including heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers. It’s simply a matter of proportion! Supersize your fruits and veggies and minimize the red meat. Try adding a few ounces of lean red meat to a salad or a few nuts to your favorite veggie dish.
