What health problems do bananas and pears help you fight?

Q. What health problems do bananas help you fight and what health problems do pears help you fight?

A. The nutrients found in bananas and pears prevent health problems by supporting vital functions within the body. Both fruits – as do many other fruits — offer a good amount of potassium, which is vital for muscle contractions, normal kidney function and helping to lower blood pressure. The fiber found in bananas and pears and other fruit works to keep the body feeling full longer and keeps blood sugar levels from spiking. Bananas and pears also have a small amount of vitamin C, which enhances immune system function and supports iron absorption. Without the vitamins and minerals that bananas, pears and other fruits provide, the body could experience irregular heartbeats, high blood sugar levels, cardiovascular disease or more.
