Are steamed vegetables better for you than raw vegetables?

Some nutrients are destroyed while cooking vegetables, while absorption of other compounds (like lycopene in tomatoes for example) are enhanced with heat. Steaming is a fine way to cook vegetables. What is most important is that you eat vegetables: it doesn’t matter if they are raw, steamed, frozen, or canned. Even 8 ounces of 100% vegetable juice can help you get your vegetables!
