Is butter lettuce easy to digest for people with intestenial disorders?

Q. Is Butter lettuce (Bibb or Boston) easier on the digestive tract for people who can’t eat a lot of fiber because of IBS or spastic colon?

A. Butter lettuce may be easier for some people to digest because it has a low fiber content; however everyone reacts differently to different fruits and vegetables. For people who suffer from IBS, spastic colon or other GI problems, it is best to keep a food journal to identify trigger foods and work with a dietitian.
