Where can I find information on fruit & veggie serving sizes and storage?

Q. Do have accurate serving weights and/or sizes for fruits and veggies? I grow and raise my own food. Can I freeze or dehydrate fruits and veggies as well?

A. This website has a lot of great information about serving sizes. To start, check out our downloadable quick nutrition charts for fruits and vegetables.

However, even the most well-versed nutrition professionals don’t have all these measurements memorized! So let’s make it easier: fill half your plate with fruits and vegetables at each meal or eating occasion.

Yes – most fruits and vegetables can be dehydrated, frozen or even canned for later use. Check with your local University Extension office for information on food preservation.
