Are Green Beans a Vegetable and Can I Count Them in My Daily Recommended Intake?

 

Q. When tracking servings of vegetables, do green beans count, or should they be tracked as servings of fruits?
 
A. Green beans are a vegetable and each ½ cup serving can be counted towards your daily recommend intake of fruits and vegetables.  Remember all forms matter,  fresh, frozen, canned, dried, and 100% juice.
