Hi, I am a 23 active female and I get all of my sugar from fruits and veggies-no refined sugars. How many cups of fruit should I eat a day without it being too much? Also, how many cups of nuts should I be eating?

Based on your age and activity level, your daily recommendation is 2 cups of fruit and 3 cups of vegetables. Remember, when it comes to fruits and vegetables, more matters! They are filled with fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other beneficial compounds that your body needs! Therefore, you can never have too many fruits or vegetables! It is also important to get some of your protein from non-animal sources, such as nuts, too! Just remember that many nuts are high in fat and calories, although they provide the “good” kind of fats. Visit MyPlate to determine how many calories you should be consuming and your daily recommendation for ounces of protein you need each day, along with all of the other food groups!
