Hi, my son is 5 years old and is autistic. I have a hard time getting him to eat anything healthy. I want to know if I put fresh vegetable or fruit in a recipe that needs to be cooked or baked, do I lose all of the nutrients in the fruit or vegetables and is it worth it. thank you, laurie

Yes, it is definitely worth it. There may be some minimal loss of nutrients, depending on cooking method, but overall, adding fruits and vegetables to recipes is one good way to increase consumption and nutrient intake. Click on our “About the Buzz” section to see a recent posting about this topic.
