Assembling this summer-time favorite is easy. Prepare the individual items by washing and cutting them as appropriate. If using bamboo skewers, soak in water prior to placing the vegetables on them to prevent charring of the skewers. If using metal skewers, brush with a small amount of olive oil so the veggies slide off easily when done. Take the individual pearl onions, large chunks (about 1" squares) of bell peppers, individual mushrooms and canned new potatoes and place them on the skewers. Brush with a small amount of olive oil or other favorite marinade and place on a hot grill. Once the grill marks appear, move the skewers away from the direct heat and continue cooking until heated through.
