How do you eat kale? I am trying to put it in a smoothie, but am not sure if I use just the leaves or the whole stalks/stems?
Kale is usually cooked before eating to soften it, though some of the smaller leaves can be shredded and added to salads. The stems tend to be tough and so are usually removed before use. It may be easier to puree just the leaves without stems. You can find good kale recipes in our recipe section here.
The stem of kale (and other leafy greens) are great sliced thinly and added to stir-frys. Please don’t waste this amazingly nutritious food. Save the stems for your stir fry!
Fantastic article.Really looking forward to read more. Want more.
