How much sodium is in meat?

Q. How much sodium in meat? Which ones?

A. Sodium content in meat varies a lot depending on how it is prepared. If you cook meat without sauces or salt based rubs, then the sodium content is pretty low. However, if you are marinating meat in sauces, adding BBQ sauce, or purchasing meat that has been injected with a salt solution – the sodium content will be much greater. Read the label for sodium content when you are purchasing meat. If you need further help figuring out sodium levels, ask your doctor or a dietitian in your area. To lower sodium intake, make half-your-plate fruits and vegetables at every meal!
