I don’t believe it is nutritional to eat diet sugar vs. real natural cane sugar. I do believe we should cut down on our sugar intake and stick to fruits(naturally sweetened)for a healthier lifestyle. So, my question is why do dietitians or nutritionist suggest that diet drinks are better than regular sugar drinks? Diet sugar is not natural but man-made and is not good for you. Thanks

I think that all dietitians would agree that fruit is the best source of sugar. Recommending natural or artifical sweetners are primarily philosophical differences, which may also be influenced by the particular situation that the dietitian is addressing, such as diet for a person with diabetes.
