I have a history of frequent constipation. I have been advised to take fruits daily like bananas. But it does not seem to work always. What fruits can make my bowel movement better and how frequently should i take them?

Prunes and other fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber are most helpful with constipation. Prunes are especially helpful- fresh from the package, stewed or as prune juice. Old fashioned “prune therapy” recommends 4 oz. (or more)of warm prune juice before bed for a bowel movement first thing in the morning. Some fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber are apples, bananas, pears, dried peas and beans, potatoes with the skin.. Eating MORE of all types of fruits and vegetables every day will help- click here to see how much is recommended every day.
