Bananas don’t tend to be bad for GERD, however, everyone reacts to foods differently.  Avoid them and any other foods if they cause discomfort. Discomfort tends to be caused by caffeine, mint, citrus fruits, tomatoes, soft drinks, peppers, spicy foods, high fat foods, chocolate and alcohol. Also, avoid lying down after eating and eating within 3 hours of retiring, smoking and tight-fitting garments.
