I heard I should store my nuts in the fridge/freezer. Is this true? If so, why?Thank you!

In general, nuts should be stored at room temperature.  However some nuts, such as pine nuts and macadamia nuts, should be stored in the refrigerator. Like any food that needs to be kept in the refrigerator, if not stored in the refrigerator these nuts will spoil faster if left out at room temperature. Visit our Nut Nutrition Database for storage information on several varieties of nuts and try our Top 10 Ways to Enjoy Nuts!
