I just found out that my blood sugar is 160..what fruits and vegetables are okay for me to eat. Are cranberries high in sugar? Thankyou so much..Jan
All fruits and vegetables can fit into a meal plan for diabetes. Starchy vegetables such as potatoes and peas, and fruits may need to be considered for their carbohydrate content. Raw cranberries do not contain very much natural sugar. However, because they are very bitter, some form of sweetening such as sugar or juice will be added, which increases the carbohydrate content. The food label will tell you how much there is per serving. I suggest you discuss meal planning for diabetes with a registered dietitian or certified diabetes educator who can help you with food selection to manage your blood sugar.
