I just picked some raspberries and want to freeze them. What is the best way to do this. Do I wash them first or freeze them the way I brought them home and then wash before eating? I have heard both ideas on what to do, but I thought I would ask the expert to confirm.

It’s better to wash the raspberries just before freezing as when they are thawed they will not hold their shape. The berries are best used for baking, pureeing or smoothies. To freeze them, simply wash and dry them by rolloing them gently on a paper towel, then spread on a cookie sheet and put in the freezer. Once they are individually frozen you can store them in a plastic bag.
