I was recently told that Broccoli had as much protein as steak. Is that true and is so, what other vegetables have protein?

Legumes (beans) are the only vegetables that contain a significant amount of protein. Other vegetables contain smaller amounts of protein and fruit contains little protein. Therefore, a serving of broccoli does not have the same amount of protein as a serving of steak (about 3 oz). Visit our Fruit & Veggie Database for nutritional information about over 100 varieites of fruits and vegetables. Try our Beans and Greens Soup–it has 15g of protein per serving!
