Quick & Easy Microwave Apples

This sweet apple dessert (or side dish) is a great fall or winter activity to do with your kids!

Cups of Fruits & Vegetables per Serving: 2 1/4

2 large apples

2 Tbsp brown sugar

2 Tbsp raisins

1 tsp ground nutmeg

1 tsp ground cinnamon 

2 tsp margarine 


  1. Core apples, leaving the bottom intact.
  2. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins.
  3. Spoon the sugar mixture into the apples and place a teaspoon of margarine on top of sugar mixture.
  4. Place the apples in a deep casserole dish and cover with a lid.
  5. Microwave for 3 1/2 to 4 minutes or until tender. Let the apples sit for 2 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
