My daughter has PKU, she is getting to the age where she wants everything to look like what we have. She is 3. Do have any suggestions on how to cook with Veggies leaving out other protein foods.

Your situation is challenging, but not impossible. There are a number of resources that provide suggestions and recipes for feeding children with PKU. Click here to see suggestions for developing good eating habits in children with PKU(starting on page 60). The website has recipes as well as discussion groups where you may be able to find ideas. Try some new recipes for the family that everyone can enjoy so that your daughter is able to eat what the family is eating. Many recipes are available for fruits and vegetables that do not include meat. You can find a registered dietitian at who may be able to assist you with meal planning for your family.
