My doctor has put me on a restricted diet for weight loss. How can I incorporate foods I love such as salads?

Q: my doctor has put me on a 1,ooo calories a day diet. I have to lose at least 50 pounds. What can jyou to help. I love salads and get eat them everyday if i have to. I can’t have any fried foods, drinks, refined sugar, flour. Since it is only me, I have no one to cook for. Thanks

A:  A good first step would be to ask your doctor to refer you to a registered dietitian.  An R.D. can assist you in setting nutritional goals and help you to achieve them in a healthy manner.  You can utilize our fruit and vegetable recipe search for hundreds of delicious and nutritious ways to add more fruits and vegetables to your diet.  You can also refine the search to specific types of meals, such as salads!
