My dr. states I am boarder line diabites cut down on sugar. I like to eat one apple a day or one orange. At night watermalon or cantalope is there much sugar in these foods.

Fruits contain sugar, but they also contain many nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, fiber and phytonutrients that contribute to your health. Reducing therefined sugar in your diet, from foods like soda, candy, ice cream and baked goods would be most helpful. One large apple contains 25g sugar, one medium orange contains 14g sugar, 1 cup of watermelon contains10g sugar and a cup of cantaloupe contains 12g sugar. Fruits can be included in a diabetic diet and you can see our response to this question in our Frequently Asked Questions.
