my husband is on a low saltdiet and was told not to use no salt because of the high potassium is there a lot of potassium I am looking for something to use in place of salt that he can use

Herbs and spices are excellent replacements for salt. Try basil, oregano, thyme, sage and rosemary to name a few. Onions and garlic, dried herb mixtures, chili and curry can add sizzle to foods. Mrs Dash® and other brands have a variety of salt free seasonings, or you can make your own favorite combinations. Lemon juice and plain or flavored vinegars can be used to flavor meats, poultry, seafood and salads- without salt. After a few weeks without salt your husband will no longer miss the salty flavor, since our craving for salt is learned. Fruits and veggies are generally low in sodium and can be added to dishes and meals to enhance flavors. The amount of potassium in “No Salt” should be listed on the label.
