My son loves fruit leathers and “smooshed fruit” by fruitabu. We buy the kind with no added suqar. Would they count as a fruit serving? The ingredients are fruit puree concentrate and lemon juice concentrate.
Since you are eating the fruit leathers without added sugar, they are a good occassional snack once or twice a week. But because they are a very concentrated source of fruit, you need to be sure your son does not eat them as his exclusive choice of fruit. Take strawberries for instance; ½ cup of strawberries are a great source of vitamin C as well as fiber and potassium-all for only 23 calories!
