What phytonutrients are in yellow and red fruits?

Q. what is the yellow and red fruit properties

A. There is a variety of phytonutrients (also called phytochemicals) in fruits and vegetables that support human health. It has been estimated that up to 4,000 phytonutrients exist, so in order to get all the nutrients our bodies need, it’s important to eat a variety of different colored fruits and vegetables to meet the daily recommendation.

Think variety, think color! Fruits and vegetables are categorized by 5 colors (blue/purple, green, white, yellow/orange, and red) based on phytonutrient components.  Those in the yellow/orange category are known for promoting healthy heart and eyes and preventing a cold, while those in the red category promote a healthy heart and good memory.  Check out our phytonutrient chart to learn more.
