so, providing canned fruits for my daughter is healthy? she really loves fruits, and if I don’t have the time to buy fresh fruits, canned fruits are all I have at home. The fruit cups like delmonte is healthy? Please advise!

All forms of fruits and veggies are good for you! This includes canned as well as fresh, frozen, dried and 100% juice. Therefore, giving your daughter canned fruit is a healthy option. When it comes to canned fruit look for fruits that are canned in light syrup or 100% juice. Fruits that are canned in heavy syrups tend to have more added sugar which provides unnecessary calories. Several varieties of fruit cups combine fruit with gelatin (jello) and other added sweeteners as well.  Try adding canned fruit to low-calorie jello instead if she likes her fruit in jello. Read the ingredient list to determine if there has been any sweetener added to the canned fruit or fruit cups.
