A. Water retention can be caused by any number of reasons. It’s very important to consult with your doctor before trying to treat yourself. Foods rich in potassium may help combat fluid retention. Broccoli, cantaloupe, prunes, apricots, bananas and potatoes are all great sources of potassium.
