What are the health benefits for peaches?are they good for you?

Not only are all fruits good for you, vegetables are as well! There are several reasons why the consumption of fruits and vegetables are essential to your everyday diet! Every year there is new evidence that comes out about the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables. Therefore, naming all the reasons could take all day! I have listed a few of the most important ones below:

  1. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber which is important to keep you full, keeps digestion normal, and has been linked to decreasing the risk and effects of several diseases including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and some cancers.
  2. Fruits and vegetables contain many of the essential vitamin and minerals that your body cannot produce on its own. This is what makes you feel healthy and energized.
  3. Replacing your higher-calories foods with fruits and vegetables (which tend to be lower in calories) can lead to a lower calorie intake. This in turn will also decrease the risk of weight gain, which is associated with several diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes and high blood pressure.

As for the specific health benefits of peaches, most importantly, they include antioxidants. Antioxidants defend the body against toxins which can cause cancers and many diseases. Peaches are also sodium free, fat free, saturated fat free, cholesterol free, and high in vitamin C, vitamin A, and fiber. These are important qualities that help reduce your risk for several diseases including heart disease and Type 2 Diabetes. Vitamin A promotes eye health and keeping your skin moist. Vitamin C strengthens the immune system, helps heal wounds, prevents cell damage, and promotes healthy teeth and gums. As you can see there are many, many reasons why you should consume fruits and vegetables.
