There are no specific fruits and vegetables that will help shrink the prostate. However, including a variety of fruits and vegetables in the diet is a good weight management strategy, and maintaining a healthy body weight is one thing that is important for treating an enlarged prostate.

  1. Fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber and low in calories are most helpful in weight loss. Some good choices include broccoli, bell peppers, brussels sprouts, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, greens, green beans, radishes and summer squash. Potassium has a diuretic effect and so helps to reduce water retained in the body. Sweet and white potatoes, spinach, tomato products and dried peas and beans are good sources of potassium.
