What % of americans get their 5 a day requirement? what % of kids?

According to government statistics based on the Behavioral Risk Factor and Surveillance Survey (BRFSS), about 24.3% of adults reported that they ate fruits and vegetables 5 or more times a day. However, the current recommendations for most adults are actually 7 to 13 servings a day, or 3 ½ to 6 ½ cups, depending on age, gender and activity level. According to the youth version of the survey, based on teens in grades 9 through 12, 20.1% consumed fruits and veggies 5 or more times a day. Recommendations for children are also based on age, gender and activity level, and range from 4 to 10 servings a day, or 2 – 5 cups.   You can see how much you should be eating by clicking here
